Four To One Intensive
The Four to One Intensive English course is different from other D4E courses with class sizes restricted to a maximum of four students. This provides for a more intensive learning environment and allows for a more individual based teaching programme.
Two teachers, covering different prearranged areas of the syllabus, work alternately with each class. This provides variety for the students and allows them to benefit from the different personalities and teaching styles.
Students undergo 15 hours English classes per week with classes available at all levels from Elementary (A1) to Advanced (C1).
All our teaching staff are university graduates and are qualified to teach English as a foreign language (TEFL).
Three afternoons per week, Four to One students are accompanied on cultural excursions / outings by their main class teacher. This adds to the learning process and encourages greater use of English by the students.
On the other two midweek afternoons, Four to One students participate in the standard programme of activities with the other students in the college.
One of the afternoons they will participate in the In-college organised sports / activities. These sports include soccer, rugby, swimming, basketball, badminton, rounders and tennis. Sports and games tournaments are also held from time to time. Arts and crafts, drama and yoga will also be available on selected dates.
On the other afternoon Four to One students participate in the half day cultural excursions to local galleries, museums and other visitor attractions with students on the standard programme. Students travel to the locations with their group leader(s) and one or more D4E activity leader. All admission fees are included.
Four to One students take part in the full day excursion each week, usually on a Saturday, with the other students in the college. The excursions are to places of interest, normally outside Dublin, by private bus.
Four to One students also take part in evening activities which are held three days per week. Activities can include discos, Irish nights, karaoke, quiz night, sports & games competitions, movie nights and many more. Evening activities take place from 20:00 to 22:00.
The activities programme provides students with an opportunity to absorb some of Ireland’s rich heritage in a fun and relaxed way while also allowing students from different nationalities the opportunity to improve their English and get to know each other outside the classroom. Some of the friendships you make here at D4E will last a lifetime.
