St. Benildus College
General Information
Dublin for English’s centre at St. Benildus College welcomes students of all nationalities from 12 to 17 years old. The centres opening dates will be published here soon.
D4E is approved by the Advisory Council for English Language Schools (ACELS) and is recognised by the Department of Education and Science for the teaching of English as a foreign language.
Location
St. Benildus College is situated on the Upper Kilmacud Road, midway between Dundrum and Stillorgan to the south of Dublin City. The school is set against a backdrop of the Dublin Mountains and is located on an 11 hectare campus with state of the art educational and sporting facilities. The new LUAS (Suburban Tramline) is adjacent to the school grounds and there is direct access from the grounds to the tram station. Trams are very frequent to and from the school and the journey time to the city centre by LUAS takes approximately 15 minutes. Bus number 75 also stops outside the school gate.
About the College
The college has 40 classrooms equipped with modern teaching facilities, school hall equipped for concerts and productions, school canteen, library, an art room, music room and two fully equipped computer rooms. Sports facilities include five football pitches, a full size grass soccer pitch, four outdoor Astroturf pitches, indoor and outdoor basketball / volleyball courts, sports hall, fully equipped gym, changing facilities and showers and extensive green space.
Classes & Classrooms
The standard programme for junior students is 15 hours per week. Classes are available at all levels from Elementary (A1) to Advanced (C1). Classes have a maximum of 15 students per class. Two teachers, covering different prearranged areas of the syllabus, work alternately with each class. This provides variety for the students and allows them to benefit from the different personalities and teaching styles.
There are 40 comfortable modern, spacious classrooms available in the college. All textbooks and other learning materials are available to students. At the end of the course students receive a certificate of attendance and completion.
Sports & Recreational Facilities
Facilities include: school hall equipped for concerts and productions, school canteen, library, art room, music room, two fully equipped computer rooms, five grass football pitches suitable for a range of different sports, four outdoor Astroturf pitches, one full size soccer pitch, indoor and outdoor basketball / volleyball courts, sports hall, fully equipped gym, changing facilities with showers, movie room, games room and extensive green space.
